There are either too many things to say about me, or too few.  I'm Gayle, twelve this year, living a nice troubled life in Singapore...I experiment alot with the things around me, taking music seriously, reading for leisure, writing for pleasure and work purposes...Surfing the Net and chatting with my online friends are growing addictions for me right now, but as long as my grades don't suffer and I don't become a social outcast, it's not too unhealthy.   Besides, I've already established myself on the web as a generally nice girl with a sometimes foul mouth...to those who insult me, of course...When I first came online, I tried to be nice to everyone, please everyone, be friends with everyone, but now, after two years, I've learnt that some people are just not willing to change -- they're the people who will walk into a chatroom and flood it with dirty language, or flame me with racist and degrading e-mail (I'm Chinese)...So I've found that the best way to be is to let myself go...be nice to those who are nice to me and nice to those who aren't, but if one goes too far, well, I'm not exactly defenseless, either.

One thing I find great pleasure in is writing.  I used to only write stories, then got introduced to poetry, but I found that too restricted...and that was when I discovered the beauty of free-verse...no rhyming needed, just an expression of your feelings.  And, of course, TYWC has helped alot in this, so special thanks for the wonderful people there...I still write poems that rhyme sometimes, and I'm getting better at it, so now the rhyming isn't as forced and awkward as before.  And I also write stories, occasionally, though I seem to have lost my touch somewhat.

My all-time favourite poet isn't William Blake, though he's the second, and it isn't Edgar Allan Poe, though he was a very talented person.  No, it's a homegrown Singaporean, 16 years old, and his name is Xinwei...a dreamy boy, and therefore Dreamerboi on the net.  I've mentioned him on the front page -- you can go and look if you want -- and I'll like to say that I admire his style....always the most beautiful poems...

How did I start rambling from me to my favourite poet? I've got no idea...I've been typing for quite a while now, just saying whatever comes to mind...I should stop now, then.  So that's it for the abouts page...click on the daisies logo to go back to main...

Thanks,
Gayle
